About the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority
The Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) is responsible for the regulation and safety oversight of aviation in Bermuda and all aircraft on the Bermuda Aircraft Registry. The BCAA is a global operation, supported by staff across four offices, including a network of technical staff strategically located worldwide.
Bermuda, as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom, is regulated by the UK Department for Transport and operates in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards.
The BCAA has a framework of aviation legislation and operates within a complex safety network. The function of the Registry is to oversee that aircraft on the registry are safe for travel. Once an aircraft is deemed airworthy by an Airworthiness Inspector, it is granted a Certificate of Airworthiness.
